This year, the company plans to invest more than 10% of its investment program in equipment and labor to carry out the activity

In response to the challenges of last winter and in order to ensure stable electricity supply in the new season, ERP North launched an active preventive campaign for the construction and maintenance of overhead power lines in North-East Bulgaria, in line with the spring growth of trees and shrubs.

Activities are pre-organized and coordinated in meetings with local authorities and regional forest farms. The aim is to limit emergency power line outages due to fallen trees and broken branches. Intensive cleaning and cleaning is underway in the most problematic areas in the regions of Gabrovo, Veliko Tarnovo, Targovishte, Shumen and Silistra, carried out both with internal resources and with the assistance of subcontractors, to achieve maximum scope and efficiency.

EPR North has initiated meetings and committees have been formed with the participation of the responsible institutions for inspections of the tracks of the WEL, and planning, on-site surveys and preparation of the relevant protocols are currently being carried out. To expand the scope of activities for trimming and cleaning vegetation on power lines, the company has increased the planned costs of equipment and equipment for this year to more than 10% of its investment program.

The company relies on the active cooperation of the responsible institutions in the person of the local government and the regional forest directorates for the successful implementation of the process. In the field inspections already carried out, vegetation was found outside the easement zones, as well as conflict zones on overhead power lines passing through forest areas. On the one hand, this poses a serious risk to the security of electricity supply to customers in the affected areas, and on the other hand, it poses a risk of fires occurring when trees and branches come into contact with overhead lines. In order to ensure timely safety, EPR North appeals to the responsible institutions to speed up the process of approving the activity for carrying out searches in the easement zones of overhead power lines bordering forest territories, as well as for taking timely action by the regional forest directorates to remove dangerous trees outside the easement zones, which represent pose a risk to the safe operation of the facilities. For its part, the company has provided a sufficient resource of people and specialized equipment to be able to drill as many power lines as possible from the distribution network, so as to ensure a stable power supply in the autumn-winter season.

With these actions, EPR North reaffirms its commitment to prevention, security and quality of services, and relies on a timely responsible partnership with the relevant institutions to achieve a common goal — reliable electricity supply for all consumers in the region.
