Sharp changes in atmospheric conditions during the summer season and unexpected deterioration of the weather situation lead to the appearance of storms, which are often accompanied by hail and lightning. These climatic phenomena have a serious impact on electricity supply facilities, with overhead power lines being the most exposed to impacts. Elektrodistribuenie Sever, part of ENERGO-PRO Varna group, calls for maximum vigilance in the outbreak of storms and other natural elements in order to prevent accidents. We recall the three most important safety rules if in a similar situation you are located near the facilities of the electricity distribution network.

In case you find yourself in an area where a storm has broken out, stay as far away as possible from power poles, substations and other facilities that are part of the electricity distribution network.

If you notice a torn wire, do not come closer than 10 meters from it and take measures to prevent third parties from accessing the danger zone! Contact ERP North immediately on the 24-hour telephone 0700 16161 or on the national emergency phone 112!

If, in the interests of public safety, a torn wire from the low-voltage network needs to be moved, and it is not possible to wait for the arrival of specialized teams, the relocation should be done with caution, using a completely dry plastic or wooden object with a length of not less than 2 meters.

Increased attention and compliance with safety rules will prevent accidents in which people die or are injured, save time without power supply to customers and the company's costs for damage recovery. Electricity Distribution North urges all companies that own large equipment to strictly observe safety regulations and work with caution near power lines.
