EPP North calls for maximum attention near electrical facilities in summer storms
Storms common to the summer season, often accompanied by hail and lightning, adversely affect electricity supply facilities, especially overhead power lines. Elektrodistribuenie Sever, part of the ENERGO-PRO Varna group, calls for maximum vigilance in the event of destruction and after the passing of natural elements. If in such situations you are located near the facilities from the power distribution network, we advise you to adhere to a few basic safety rules to prevent accidents from occurring.
During a storm, stay as far away as possible from electrical poles, wires, substations and other facilities that are part of the power distribution network.
If you notice a broken wire, stay within 10 meters of it and take measures to prevent third parties from accessing the danger area — for example, by placing fences. Contact ERP North immediately on the 24-hour telephone 0700 1 61 61 or on the national emergency phone 112! It is advisable to stay at the scene of the accident until the arrival of the emergency teams.
If, for safety reasons, a torn wire from the low-voltage network has to be moved, and it is not possible to wait for the arrival of specialized teams, the relocation should be done with caution, using a completely dry plastic or wooden object with a length of not less than 2 meters.
Electricity Distribution North calls on all companies that own large-sized equipment to strictly observe safety regulations and to work with caution near power lines. Compliance with safety rules will prevent accidents to people, destruction of equipment and crops, as well as damage to the power distribution network.
