Coats Company buys environmentally clean electricity from ENERGO-PRO Energy Services
Coats Bulgaria EOOD received a certificate for 100% green energy from ENERGO-PRO Energy Services. The certificate is for the second consecutive year of electricity obtained from renewable energy sources, and the company has chosen and trusted the energy supplier on the free market since 2017. The document was handed over to the company manager Mr. Ivo Georgiev by Veselina Dikancheva, Sales Director Sofia, and Radostina Andreeva, Key Client Manager at ENERGO-PRO.
“We have put the energy priority at the forefront, in addition to the optimization opportunities that exist to reduce energy consumption through better planning and more efficient use of the machine fleet,” Mr. Georgiev, manager of Coates, said during the handover. “In the search for opportunities to switch to renewable energy, we have established a developing partnership with ENERGO-PRO. Thank you for their support in achieving our goals. We also find other points of contact and areas in which to cooperate in the realization of joint projects. We work in 50 countries on 6 continents and I believe that companies like us should champion the green idea of a cleaner planet!” he added.
Coats is a world leader in the production of industrial threads, applying innovative techniques to their development, including yarns, fabrics and composites in areas such as personal protection, telecommunications, energy, transportation, household and leisure. The company is committed to developing a long-term goal to achieve zero emissions by 2050, which is the highest level of climate ambition under the Science Based Target initiative. Coates launched the Sustainable Development Strategy, which sets seven ambitious goals for 2022 in five priority areas with the aim of accelerating progress towards a more sustainable future. The five priority areas are water, energy, wastewater and emissions, social and life sustainability in line with environmental protection. The areas are identified, taking into account in the first place the values and ethics that are most important for employees, customers, investors and also for the end user. Subsequently, it will be considered where there is the greatest potential for improvement in production and operations.
ENERGO-PRO Energy Services promotes the production and trade of electricity generated in an environmentally friendly manner. Promoting the green idea is among the company's top priorities. Unlike fossil fuel plants, renewable energy sources do not release greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. The company was the first electricity supplier in Bulgaria to launch the issuance of green energy certificates, which are based on guarantees of origin issued by the Agency for Sustainable Energy Development. This year alone, dozens of customers of the energy trader obtained the special document, which certifies that the electricity sold is produced entirely from renewable sources.
