The claim in the arbitration procedure initiated by ENERGO-PRO in July 2013 was registered for consideration
The claim in the arbitration procedure initiated by ENERGO-PRO in July 2013 against Bulgaria was registered by the International Center for Settlement of Investment Disputes of the World Bank (ICSID) on 26 May 2015. The reason for the filing of the claim in 2013 were uncompensated expenses incurred by companies of the company, for compulsory purchase of electricity from renewable sources, for investments, as well as expenses related to the activity.
As a result of the pricing decisions of the State Commission for Energy and Water Regulation from 2012 — 2014, in which these costs were not reimbursed, a deficit was created, which poses a serious risk to the financial stability of the companies of the ENERGO-PRO group in Bulgaria.
Since July 2013, the arbitration procedure followed the development determined by the rules of the International Center for Settlement of Investment Disputes of the World Bank for preliminary action by the parties. On 26 May 2015, the claim worth EUR 54 million was registered for examination.
