EWRC approves new electricity prices from July 1
The Commission for Energy and Water Regulation adopted by Decision C-29 new electricity prices, which for ENERGO-PRO's domestic customers are as follows: daily tariff — BGN 0.19753 per kWh, night tariff — BGN 0.11058 per kWh, excluding VAT. The average increase is 1.05%, with prices taking effect from July 1, 2020.
The new prices, valid for small business customers on a regulated market, will be in force until the end of September, in case they have not yet entered the free market. According to the latest amendments to the Energy Act, as of October 1, all business customers must have a selected electricity supplier at freely negotiated prices, and applications are submitted by the 10th of the previous month. Those who do not apply for the choice of supplier will remain with their final supplier until June 30, 2021, but in their capacity as a dealer.
At the moment, the regular reporting of the means of trade measurement is underway, which is carried out by the employees of ERP North according to a pre-prepared schedule. According to a regulated methodology, the electricity consumed by customers will be proportionally distributed at the old and new prices depending on the number of days before and after the change included in their individual reporting period. Accordingly, the invoices for the reporting period including the change will contain two subperiods — the period for the old prices up to and including June 30, 2020, and the new ones — from July 1, 2020.
