Customers of the Provider of last resort need to proceed with the choice of electricity supplier
From July 1, 2021, non-domestic customers of energy companies in Bulgaria continued to switch to the free electricity market. The requirement is set out in an amendment to the Law on Amendment and Supplement to the Energy Act of 26.06.2021. According to the legal requirements, after 1 July, customers who did not choose a supplier on the free market switched to a Provider of last resort (LPI). For the time being, only the domestic customers of the energy companies in the country remain on a regulated market.
At present, ENERGO-PRO Sales continues to supply electricity to non-domestic customers who did not make their choice as a supplier on the free market within the statutory period, but already in their role as Provider of last resort. Due to the change in the supplier, the non-domestic customers of ENERGO-PRO Sales in its role as DPI have a new customer number, which can be checked on the company's website: https://energo-pro-sales.bg/bg/e-uslugi/proverka-za-nov-klientski-nomer-po-star-klientski-nomer. The module for verifying the new customer number by old customer number is also available from the Electronic Services section of the ENERGO-PRO website, next to the Account Verification module.
ENERGO-PRO complied and fulfilled all regulatory requirements for the liberalization of non-domestic customers. The network company of the Group sent a notification about the change to all non-domestic customers who, according to the legal changes in the ZIDZE of 26.06.2020, were to choose an electricity supplier and enter the free market by 01.07.2021. A large-scale information campaign was carried out in the media and on the company's websites since the beginning of the legal changes. Non-domestic customers were expected to conclude individual contracts for the supply of electricity at freely negotiated prices on time.
The company once again reminds that the supply of electricity from DPI is a temporary solution and it is necessary for companies to seek an offer for electricity supply on a free market.
