The Ministry of Energy checked the preparation of the EPP North for the winter

The Ministry of Energy conducted a regular check of the readiness of Elektrodistribuenie Sever for operation in the winter season. The ME expert team visited selected sites from the electricity distribution network in Northeastern Bulgaria, the warehouse base, the company's emergency stocks, the state of the specialized equipment, the equipment for working in winter conditions, the availability of documentation on technical operation and safety. A special focus of the commission was the implementation of the investment program and its objects of importance for the security of electricity supply.

Power lines, substations, substations and substations on the territory of North-Eastern Bulgaria were inspected. The representatives of the Ministry got acquainted with the schedule of activities for preparing the electricity distribution network for the winter and checked the quality of their implementation. EPR North experts provided full assistance to the verifiers, providing any information and documentation requested, as well as full access to the facilities selected for inspection.

Maintaining the grid in good technical condition is a year-round activity of the electricity distribution company. In the framework of winter preparation, additional inspections, prevention and servicing of facilities are carried out to ensure their reliable operation during the period of adverse climatic conditions and increased load. They are inspected with an infrared camera for the detection of malfunctions and their timely elimination.

So far, inspections of substations have been carried out, 915 kilometers of low-voltage networks with twisted wire have been reconstructed, 13,362 pieces of medium-voltage insulators have been replaced, 191 steel grating and 1674 medium and low voltage reinforced concrete poles have been replaced and newly installed, along with 10 tons of transformer oil. In October and November, the activities on cleaning of overhead power lines, prevention and ongoing repairs on some facilities will be finalized on schedule.

The company has 382 repair teams, equipped with the necessary personal protective equipment, specialized equipment and equipment. The vehicle fleet has been prepared with a total of 940 off-road, team and specialized cars available. 51 new units are expected to be delivered by the end of 2019. The necessary emergency reserve of the main types of materials and equipment is provided. The company has plans in place to deal with emergencies.

Electricity Distribution North manages and maintains a power distribution network with a total length of 42,626 km on the territory of 30,000 sq. km and covers 9 administrative districts in North-East Bulgaria - Varna, Veliko Tarnovo, Gabrovo, Dobrich, Razgrad, Ruse, Silistra, Targovishte and Shumen.
