The National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology warns of a worsening of the climate situation over the next day
NIMH issued a warning of severe cold and heavy snowfall over the next day and night across the country. On the night of January 19 to 20, with moderate and temporarily strong north-western, northeastern wind in Eastern Bulgaria, cold air will invade. Rainfall will cover the country, and in northern and western Bulgaria it will quickly turn into snow and snow cover will begin to form in most areas between 5 and 10 cm. On the territory served by ERP North — in the Danube Plain, Dobrudzha and Ludogorieta — there will be snow blizzards and swells will form.
The teams of the electricity distribution company are ready to respond to repair damage to the electricity distribution network caused by the expected heavy snowfall and strong wind.
In response to the expected deterioration of the weather situation, EPP North has provided sufficient personnel and equipment to respond to all signals related to power outages. The company's emergency teams on duty will respond in a timely manner to restore normal electricity supply to customers. In the event of crisis situations, an organization has been established to regroup and redirect technical teams and equipment to the most affected areas.
Customers can submit emergency alerts on the 24/7 telephone lines of ERP North 0700 161 61 and 0700 359 10. An additional emergency telephone 0897 006601 will also be switched on temporarily.
