Since the beginning of the campaign of ERP North to update the data on the provided capacity, which was launched in December 2019, the company's business customers have submitted their declarations for maintaining or changing the claimed capacity for more than 30 thousand sites. From July 1, 2020, the electricity distribution company will request a change in the pricing of the service of providing access to the grid in accordance with the power provided and actually needed. The envisaged change was also included in the application submitted to the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission (EWRC) for electricity prices after that date.

The change consists in the fact that the price for access to the electricity distribution network will be calculated on the basis of the requested and provided capacity, and not as before for the electricity consumed. The new pricing method reflects, on the one hand, the possibility for customers to use the power provided to them at any time and, on the other hand, the obligation of ERP North to provide the same regardless of potential requests from other customers. This method of calculation is applied by a number of network operators in the countries of the European Union, as well as by the other two electricity distribution companies operating in our country. It brings several main advantages for customers — the ability to fine-tune the power according to their real needs, to pay an access price according to the actual power provided to them, to plan the requested power and their costs for it. At the same time, precise data on delivered power improves the quality of the services provided and will allow optimal use of the existing network as well as its development according to the needs of the business.

Following the declaration of a state of emergency in our country, the deadline for submitting declarations for provided power by non-domestic customers of ERP North was extended until May 31, 2020. The company has created a special section on its website at: https://www.erpsever.bg/bg/promqna-moshtnost. There, customers can get answers to the most important questions related to updating the data on the power provided, as well as get acquainted with the main highlights on the subject in a short video and brochure that synthesizes the essential information regarding the change.
