At the end of December 2018, the new node station Iztok was included in the power distribution network of the ERP North in the area of the city of Ruse. The project for its construction is part of the investment program of the company for the past year, and its value amounts to BGN 400,000. The actual preparations for its joining the network started on September 27, 2018, when the concrete structure and equipment of the facility were delivered. The new hub station is located in Industrial Park, Bulgaria. Ruse and supplies four overhead power lines, which provide electricity to the settlements located east of the Danube city (Marten, Sandrovo, Nikolovo and Slivo Pole), as well as to part of the economic users in Industrial Park and Eastern Industrial Zone, town of Ruse. Ruse.

Node station Iztok is designed and built as a modular complete distribution system of modern type. The project is implemented in such a way as to provide secure and independent power supply to the power lines connected to it, with all inputs and outputs equipped with digital relay protection. Thus, in addition to limiting the risks of power outages, modern equipment at the node station will make it possible to selectively disconnect individual sections of power lines with registered breakdowns, which in turn will significantly reduce the number of customers without power. In addition, the new facility is equipped with an automated remote control system. This mode of management reduces the response time in case of accidents, due to the fact that the manipulations are carried out centrally by the dispatch centers of ERP North and no time is wasted to reach an emergency team to the facility.

The area that feeds the new hub of ERP North is one of the most dynamically developing in the Ruse region and there is a continuous growth in the number of inhabitants in it. With the significant investment made by the electricity distribution company in the construction and commissioning of the new facility, the security and quality of electricity supply will increase in 4 settlements in Russensko with more than 12,000 inhabitants.
