ENERGO-PRO reported just over 38,200 megawatt hours of electricity consumption in the period December 31, 2019 — January 1, 2020. This is shown by the data of the network company ERP North, which supplies electricity to more than 1.1 million consumers in the districts of Varna, Veliko Tarnovo, Gabrovo, Ruse, Silistra, Dobrich, Razgrad, Targovishte and Shumen. The difference with the same period of the previous New Year holidays is minimal — about a 0.1% increase.

The situation is different during the Christmas holidays. During the period 24-26 December 2019, ENERGO-PRO customers consumed more than 15% less electricity compared to the same period in 2018. According to the expert analyses of the electricity distribution company, the significant difference in consumption is due to the higher average temperatures for the period — in 2019 the average daily temperature on holidays around Christmas was nearly 3 degrees higher compared to the same period in 2018.

Traditionally, consumption was highest on New Year's Eve 2019, when the company's customers consumed more than 20,700 megawatt hours of electricity, about 500 megawatt hours more than on December 31, 2018.
