A group of 12 students in the fourth year of the University of Ruse “Angel Kanchev” together with their scientific supervisors visited today the Ruse - Center substation in the Danube city. The facility is owned by ERP North and provides power to more than 15,000 businesses and households.

During the visit, the future energy engineers got acquainted with the overall condition of the facilities in the substation and the investments made by ERP North in recent years. The students examined with great interest the 110 kV gas complete distribution system (ECRU) and the 110 kV cable power lines, one of which was replaced with a new, dry type, at the end of 2021.

The specialists of Elektrodistribuenie Sever pointed out to the youth that EKRU is the main advantage of the “Center” substation. Since it is located in the central part of the city, the small size of the system allows a relatively smaller area to distribute and transform electrical energy. The visit ended in the command room of the substation, where the students examined relay and command boards, through which protection, control and management over the status and operation of the modules in the substation are carried out.

At the end of the two-hour tour, the students and their lecturers expressed their gratitude for the opportunity provided, and the future energy professionals expressed interest in the opportunity to start their career at ERP North. Every year, the company offers internship and scholarship programs for pupils and students in the last courses of study, thus consolidating its position as an employer who seeks to support young people at the beginning of their career development. In partnership with the institutions and educational institutions in North-East Bulgaria, ERP North facilitates future professionals both in acquiring competencies and practical skills, as well as in consolidating key knowledge for the profession, important for their development as professionals.
