Repair of substations provides stable power supply to more than 42,000 households and companies in Veliko Tarnovo

Specialists from ENERGO-PRO Networks installed new differential protections in the Dłga Laka substation. The facility is of strategic importance for the energy system in Veliko Tarnovo region.

Dluga Laka Substation is located in the quarter. Cholakovtsi of the old capital city. The substation is of a modern type and operates in remote control mode. There is a 110 kV outdoor distribution system and a 20 kV indoor distribution system. It is equipped with two power transformers with a total installed power of 50 megavoltampers. Electricity producers — Veliko Tarnovo Thermal Power Plant and Sini Vir HPP — have also joined the medium-voltage system.

The electricians of ENERGO-PRO Grids replaced the existing electromechanical relay protections with differential ones, which serve to protect the power transformers from damage. The repair increases the safety of the facility, minimizes the possibility of accidents occurring in the substation and contributes to the stability of the electricity supply of 12,300 households and companies in the industrial zone of Veliko Tarnovo, the town of Debelets and 36 settlements in the direction of the Republic Pass.

This autumn, the company's specialists also carried out repairs at the Veliko Tarnovo substation, which supplies electricity to 30,400 households and companies. With the rehabilitation of these two substations, the reliability of the power supply in the area has increased.
