Electricity consumption in North-East Bulgaria increased by 3% in the first days of August
The growth of electricity consumption is reported by ENERGO-PRO for the week 31.07-06.08.2017 compared to the previous week 24.07-30.07.2017. The increased current consumption is explained by the massive use of coolers on hot days.
Electricity consumption in Northeastern Bulgaria for the seven-day period at the beginning of August was 96,500 MWh, which is 3000 MWh or 3% more than the consumption in the last week of July. According to ENERGO-PRO data, electricity consumption in the first days of August 2017 is 1% higher compared to the same period last year. It corresponds to the temperature changes in the territory served by the company - the average maximum temperature was 32.9 degrees for the week 31.07-06.08.2017, 28.2 degrees for the period 24.07-30.07.2017 and 31.6 degrees for 31.07-06.08.2016.
ENERGO-PRO reminds that with reasonable use of cooling appliances, electricity bills can be significantly reduced. So, for example, it is necessary to periodically clean the filters. Air conditioners work more efficiently in continuous operation when setting the thermostat to a moderate temperature than when the unit is frequently started and stopped in turbo mode. It is advisable to close doors and windows tightly, because of the large difference in temperatures outside and inside the premises. Placing bulky furniture in front of the air conditioner also hinders the uniform cooling of the room and leads to an increase in electricity consumption.
