ENERGO-PRO employees renovated part of the equipment in a node station in the city of Ruse
ENERGO-PRO Grids continues to gradually upgrade the equipment of facilities that are of key importance for the reliable functioning of the electricity distribution network. The company's specialists replaced a large number of insulators, oil and medium voltage circuit breakers at Domostroene node station in the city of Ruse. The installers also installed new valve manifolds, thus improving the grounding loop of the building. Thus, they provided reliable surge protection for the facilities at the node station. The renovation increased the reliability and quality of the electricity supplied to a large number of commercial and domestic customers in the Eastern Industrial Zone of the city and in the area around the Danube Bridge.
Valve arresters provide primary protection against overvoltages caused by external factors or by a malfunction in the power transmission system. Surges are difficult to identify, but they have multiple consequences on electrical equipment. They can cause equipment and machinery to stop working unexpectedly or lead to electrical and electronic failures. Valve arresters limit these voltages to safe levels and this makes them particularly important for the health and safe operation of the electrical network. At the same time, the grounding loop improves the protection of the facility from lightning.
The main purpose of the node station is to distribute electricity. Several medium-voltage power lines reach it, and a larger number of power lines come out, which feed dozens of substations. Through the distribution of energy, which takes place in the node stations, backup connections are also provided - alternative power supply when one of the power lines is turned off.
In order to supply electricity with the necessary technical parameters to the final customers, ENERGO-PRO Networks continuously invests funds in maintenance of the facilities in good technical condition, as well as in the development of the network through the construction of new facilities. ENERGO-PRO Networks serves 98 node stations located on the territory of North-East Bulgaria. Many of them have an important connecting function between individual substations. Given the key role of node stations for the smooth operation of the electricity distribution network, in recent years a number of facilities of this type have been completely or partially retrofitted.
