ERP North invests hundreds of thousands of leva each year in the installation of bird protection devices on the electricity distribution network in North-East Bulgaria. The experts of the company, together with the Society for the Protection of Birds, regularly monitor changes in the habits of feathered animals in order to secure the maximum number of facilities on which they land. Installed bird protection devices are placed both to protect the life and health of birds, and to ensure an uninterrupted supply of electricity to customers.

Northeastern Bulgaria, where the company operates, is characterized by numerous species of migratory and non-migratory birds, which is favored by the fact that the country's granary is located here. The migration route of migratory animals also passes through the Dobrudzha region. Accumulating them on electricity distribution facilities is sometimes a challenge despite all the safety measures taken by ERP North. Cases of “blackening” of overhead power lines by birds perching on them have been recorded, which causes short-term power outages and disturbs customers, and they, in turn, file complaints with the company. EPR North assures that it is doing everything possible to prevent such inconveniences for customers and to protect birds that land even on secure facilities. The company hopes to understand such cases and will continue to invest in bird security and electricity supply.
