Students from the University of Ruse visited the dispatch center and substation of ENERGO-PRO in Ruse
Students majoring in Electrical Power Engineering and Electrical Furnishing from Ruse University “Angel Kanchev” visited the dispatch center and substation “Center” of ENERGO-PRO Networks in Ruse.
During the visit to the dispatch center, 48 future electrical engineers learned more about the conditions and the way in which the operational management of the electricity distribution network in the territory of the Ruse and Razgrad districts is carried out. They had the opportunity to get acquainted with the documentation that each dispatching unit keeps — for registering accidents, for carrying out planned activities on the network, for operational switches to change the power supply scheme and others. The Regional Senior Dispatcher introduced the group to the possibilities of capturing data on the network in real time and remote control of the facilities using the built telemechanics system.
Later, at the “Center” substation, the young specialists had the opportunity to get acquainted with the modern equipment and the way each substation functions - the facilities by which electricity is converted from high to medium voltage. Special attention was paid to the 110 kilovolt compact gas system, the latest generation digital relay protection and vacuum circuit breakers installed. In the command room, future electrical engineers examined the panels with central signaling, on which the state and normal operation of individual modules in the substation are controlled.
The students' visit to the dispatch center and substation of ENERGO-PRO Networks in Ruse is a continuation of a long-standing tradition, which enables future electrical engineers, even during their university training, to get acquainted with the electricity facilities in real conditions.
