Students from the Technical University of Ruse got acquainted with the work of the ERP North dispatch center in the city

On March 5, students from the Technical University of Ruse, trained in Electrical Power Engineering and Electrical Equipment, visited the Network Management Center (TUM) of Elektrodistribuenie Sever in the city of Ruse. The idea of these visits, which have become an annual tradition, is for future specialists in the field of energy to get acquainted closely and in real conditions with the management of the electricity distribution network.

Regional Senior Dispatcher of ERP North Ognyan Kochev introduced the students to the main points in the dispatching work, explained the schemes of the area and demonstrated the use of technical equipment. The young energy workers had the opportunity to look at the single-line scheme of the region, implemented on the dispatch shield, as well as the documentation that each dispatching unit keeps — for carrying out planned activities on the network, for operational switches, for changing the power supply scheme, for registering accidents and others.

The students followed the work with the Automated Dispatch Control System (ASDU) in the dispatching room with interest and received answers to many of their questions, which strengthened their knowledge of electrical power and electrical equipment. The qualified long-time dispatchers of the electricity distribution company gave valuable guidance and advice to the young people, which will be useful for their future professional realization.

The dispatch centers of ERP North are equipped with modern technical equipment, which allows precise remote control of objects from the electricity distribution network. They carry out round-the-clock monitoring and control of the network and support the activities of emergency teams in case of possible damage to the facilities. The dispatchers work in coordination with all management and operational levels in the electricity distribution company in order to effectively control the electricity supply and provide quality service to customers.

ERP North and the Technical University of Ruse are planning visits of students to other sites of the electricity distribution network in the area. Such initiatives are a regular practice and the result of fruitful cooperation with all technical educational institutions in North-East Bulgaria.
