Students of the Vocational High School of Electrical Engineering and Electronics “M. C. Lomonosov “in Gorna Oryahovitsa visited the Training Center of Elektrodistribuenie North, part of the ENERGO-PRO Varna group. The CEO of ENERGO-PRO Varna Momchil Andreev introduced future energy professionals to the prospects for career development in the company.

After passing an instruction on the safe operation of electrical equipment, leading experts in electrical engineering introduced eleventh graders to the main equipment that is used in the power distribution network. They visited the classrooms, where they watched demonstrations of various types of power equipment, cable heads, examined a reduced copy of an overhead power line. During outdoor activities, students watched a training in climbing a steel lattice pole.

The training continued with a visit to the High Voltage Laboratory of Elektrodistribuenie Sever, where the company's experts introduced future electricians to the main types of tests of cables, insulators and specialized protective equipment.

Participants received a certificate for the successful completion of the basic training course. Students of PGEE “M. C. Lomonosov “, who are participating in an international project under the Erasmus program, were informed about the opportunities for summer internship programs that Elektrodistribuenie Sever offers for students in vocational high schools of electrical engineering.

ENERGO-PRO is the largest employer in North-East Bulgaria in the energy sector and is the main opportunity for professional realization of graduates of PGEE “M. C. Lomonosov”. In the period 2013-2018 nearly 100 high school graduates came to work in the electricity distribution company. This is more than 50% of the total number of high school graduates in a five-year period.

Since the establishment of the ENERGO-PRO Training Center in 2009, thousands of current and future energy professionals have been trained in it, who have acquired new practical knowledge for safe operation with electrical equipment. Traditionally, ENERGO-PRO specialists open the doors of the Center for schoolchildren and students to acquaint future energy engineers with the specifics of the profession already during the educational process. Visits of pupils and students to the Training Center are part of the company's policy to support educational institutions in the preparation of professional personnel in the field of energy.
