The Governors of ENERGO-PRO Varna met with the Mayors of Targovishte and Razgrad

As part of the initiative launched a week ago by the management of ENERGO-PRO Varna for meetings with representatives of the local government, today the managers of the company visited the cities of Razgrad and Targovishte. During the meetings with the mayors of the two municipalities, current issues related to the activities of the company for renovation and repair of the electricity distribution network in the area of the two district cities were discussed. The managers of ENERGO-PRO Varna informed the representatives of the local government about the investments made in 2020, as well as the projects for the development of the network planned for this year. The planned funds for the implementation of the investment program of the electricity distribution company for the current year in the cities of Razgrad and Targovishte exceed BGN 4.1 million, including more than BGN 600,000 for repair works. With the annual work on the facilities from the electricity distribution network, the quality and security of the supplied electricity to the company's customers increases.
Among the main topics discussed during the meetings was the process of mandatory liberalization for all non-domestic customers launched in October. The grace period provided for in the legislation expires on June 30, 2021. The managers of ENERGO-PRO provided the mayors with an update on the number of customers in the territory of the two districts that have not yet chosen an electricity supplier on the free market. Non-residential customers of ENERGO-PRO Sales who by June 10, 2021 do not conclude an electricity supply contract with any of the nearly 50 traders on the liberalized market, will switch from July 1, 2021 to a Provider of last resort, where electricity prices are significantly higher than market prices. Most of the customers who are still on a standard contract rather than one with freely negotiated prices are small businesses with low consumption and at this stage do not show an active interest in changing their supplier.
The agenda of the meetings also included the topic of expected new electricity prices on a regulated market from July 1, 2021. The management of the company familiarized the mayors with the parameters of their price applications. At the current prices of all other regulated market participants, without taking into account price changes that they would request for validation by the EWRC, with the proposals made by the electricity distribution and supply companies of the ENERGO-PRO group, the total increase for household consumers on the regulated market is expected to be 1.7%.
