The Manager of ENERGO-PRO met with the Mayor of Veliko Tarnovo Municipality to discuss the new infrastructure projects in the area and the possibilities for effective cooperation with the local government
Today, January 14, 2014, Mr. Stefan Abadzhiev, Manager of ENERGO-PRO Varna EOOD, together with a team of senior managers of the company, met with Mr. Daniel Panov, Mayor of Veliko Tarnovo Municipality. During the meeting, the Mayor introduced the company's representatives to the major investment infrastructure projects of the Municipality, the basis of the discussion was the project “New Center of Veliko Tarnovo” (in the area of the old Military School). The main topic of the conversation was the need for investments in connection with the construction of new electricity infrastructure in the area to serve the future new urban center.
Mr. Panov presented the project plan, according to which, within the next few months, the electricity distribution company should draw up a plan for the construction of the necessary electricity supply. The plan for the design and construction of the energy facilities will be carried out in several stages according to the construction of commercial, residential and administrative buildings planned in the area. The facilities will be aligned with the municipal concept of developing the commercial and administrative functions of the new urban environment.
At the meeting, which was also attended by the Chief Architect of the Municipality of Veliko Tarnovo, it was agreed that ENERGO-PRO will present a project of the future electricity distribution network in the area of realization of the “New Center of Veliko Tarnovo” in order for the Municipality to apply for funds under the operational program of the European Union. In conclusion, the two parties specified a joint action plan and deadlines within which the Municipality of Veliko Tarnovo and ENERGO-PRO Grids will carry out their planned calculations in connection with the construction of the new electricity distribution network.
The manager of ENERGO-PRO stressed that it is extremely important for the company to maintain an active dialogue with the local government in order to discuss the possibilities of cooperation and timely seek solutions to the current problems in the interest of the residents of the Municipality.
“Although the State Regulator has limited to a minimum the funds available to us for investments in the development of the electricity distribution network, we continue to look for ways and opportunities to implement our annual investment program. Such large-scale infrastructure projects, such as the transformation of the old Military School into a new urban center, significantly affect the quality of life of the residents of each municipality and are of great importance for the development of a favorable business climate in the area. ENERGO-PRO always strives, even in the conditions of serious financial constraints in which we are placed, to support the efforts of the local government and to do everything possible to support the process of realization of such important projects for Bulgarian municipalities. “, said Mr. Abadzhiev.
During the meeting, the managers of ENERGO-PRO introduced the mayor and the chief architect of Veliko Tarnovo municipality to the financial conditions in which the company operates and with the serious restrictions imposed by the pricing decisions of the State Commission for Energy and Water Regulation adopted in 2013.
