The Choreritas Small Hydropower Plant (HPP) project, implemented by ENERGO-PRO Colombia, was awarded the Silver Sustainability Certificate by the Hydropower Sustainability Alliance. This recognition is the result of a thorough evaluation carried out by accredited independent experts in 2024.

The headquarters is located in the municipality of San Andrés de Quercía, Colombia, and is under construction. Upon completion, it will have an installed capacity of 20 MW, contributing to sustainable electricity production in the region.

The obtained certificate ranks Choreritas HPP among the leading projects worldwide. The International Hydroelectric Association (IHA) has nominated the project for the Blue Planet Award, placing it among the top 3 small hydroelectric plants in the world. The nomination highlights the application of best environmental, social, technical and innovative practices in the hydropower sector.

“We are proud of this international recognition, which is the result of the dedicated work of the entire ENERGO-PRO team and our division in Colombia. The certificate and nomination motivate us to continue implementing sustainable solutions and raising our standards,” the company's management said.

The Choreritas project is another proof of ENERGO-PRO's commitment to sustainable development, environmental protection and innovation in the energy sector.
