Temporary restriction of online services due to changes in ZEVI

Dear customers,

We would like to inform you that according to § 70, para. 2 and para. 3 of the Transitional and Final Provisions of the Law on Amendments and Supplements to the Renewable Energy Sources Act for all power plants for the production of electrical energy from renewable sources, for which accession opinions have been issued, but as of the date of entry into force of this law not preliminary contracts or interconnection agreements have been concluded, a guarantee is provided for the benefit of the electricity network operator, a guarantee in the form of a deposit or a bank guarantee in the amount of BGN 50,000 for each megawatt (MW) of connected power of the future energy facility. The guarantee is provided within three months from the entry into force of the law (until (15.01.2024). In case of failure to comply within the specified period, the procedure for joining the site is terminated on the basis of paragraph 4 of the same provision.

In this regard, ELEKTRODISTRIBUENIE SEVER AD has sent notifications to all customers with issued opinions for the connection of energy facilities for the production of electricity from renewable sources, without concluded preliminary contracts or connection agreements, that they should provide a guarantee in the form of a bank guarantee or a deposit in the appropriate amount. The bank guarantee/deposit secures the costs incurred for the accession of the site and should be updated before its accession. The period of validity of the bank guarantee should be at least 18 months from the date of issue.

· You can provide a deposit to the following bank account of Elektrodistribuenie Sever AD:

Please note that due to the need for technical implementation of the systems, remote request of manufacturer joining services with a personal identification code (PIK) through the Virtual Customer Service Center will temporarily not be available.
