ENERGO-PRO Energy Services supplies 100% green energy to Kaufland

The retail chain became the first in Bulgaria to have a Green Energy Certificate

ENERGO-PRO Energy Services awarded Kaufland the first certificate for electricity produced from renewable sources in Bulgaria. The document proves that since March 1, 2016, the retail chain has been purchasing 100% green energy. With its acquisition, Kaufland Bulgaria stimulates ecological production and contributes to the protection of the environment.

Receiving the Certificate from Kaufland Bulgaria is not accidental. Over the years, the company has repeatedly proven through its activities and initiatives that it is a “green company”. For several years, the new commercial sites of Kaufland Bulgaria have been heated without the use of fossil fuels through a special innovative system that uses the waste heat from the refrigeration capacities. In this way, the company contributes to the reduction of harmful emissions. The subsidiaries of Kaufland Bulgaria carry out strict separate waste collection, and last year alone the company handed over for recycling nearly 8000 tons of paper and more than 740 tons of foil. Kaufland Bulgaria is the first retail chain to receive the “Green Company” certificate from the World Bank and is the winner of a number of other environmental awards.

With the development of technology, green electricity generation is becoming more efficient and this is an additional incentive for many countries to implement measures to promote them.
