ERP North employees rescued a young white stork and safely returned it to its nest

An ERP North team helped rescue a young white stork in distress in the village of Bazan, near Ruse. Following a report to the Regional Inspectorate of Environment and Water in Ruse, company employees responded immediately and used a specialized aerial platform to safely return the bird to its nest.

At this time of year, young storks make their first attempts at flying and often fall to the ground, unable to return on their own. Thanks to the swift coordination between the Ruse Regional Inspectorate of Environment and Water and ERP North, the bird was successfully rescued and returned to the rest of the brood in the nest.

Such operations are part of the power distribution company's commitment not only to reliable electricity supply but also to the preservation of biodiversity in the regions where it operates. ERP North teams respond to every report of a bird in distress and provide the necessary assistance.

Protecting the white stork is among the company's long-term conservation efforts. Every year, ERP North teams install specialized platforms for stork nests on power distribution poles. These provide a safe nesting site, reduce the risk of power grid failures, and protect the birds from electric shock. After the breeding season ends and the storks migrate, ERP North will install such a platform on the utility pole where the nest in the village of Bazan is located.

The company also carries out large-scale projects to protect birds along the power distribution network, including the installation of protective insulation and markers on power lines. These activities are part of ERP North's ongoing efforts to balance reliable power distribution with wildlife conservation.
